We ventured out into the world of obedience competition in 1984 with Duffy, our very first Scottie. Within a year of his arrival the show bug had bitten and we acquired our very first AKC confirmation scottie from breeders Sue & Gary Carr. Bonnie was her name and when she finished showing she had become Am/Can Ch. Whiskybae Yanky Bonnie Jean. She was the darling of Jack’s heart and tolerated me. That was 30 years ago. During those years we’ve made up approximately 30 champions. Excellent health, sound temperament and structure have always been uppermost in our minds when planning a breeding. We take advantage of all available testing to ensure, to the best of our ability, the health of our Scotties.

Eliot Ness, Ch. Springbok’s Untouchable, ROM,CHIC # 31953 won two Specialty Best In Shows and multiple Group 1’s. He finished his show career at the age of 11 having competed and won the Veteran Dog Class at the STC Greater Louisville Specialty in 2010. His sons, Tad and Teddy also had success in the show ring. Tad was pointed at Specialties and earned Best In Specialty Show at the STC Greater Louisville Specialty in 2007. He also won Best In Show at an IABCA (all-breed) show. By the time he retired he was INT/AM Grand Ch. Springbok's A Tad Bit Unbelievable.  CHIC #31954. Brother Teddy earned his IABCA title  and American title as well and when he retired from the AKC show ring he was INT/AM Ch. Springbok’s Unbelievably Hugable. He finished his show career by going BOW for a 5 point major at the Gr Dallas STC Specialty.

We are now moving into a new era. Eliot left us when he was 13 ½ and Teddy when he was 11½. Tad is still with us and doing well, he'll be 13 on April 15th.

Along the way  (more than 10 years ago)  we met a very special gal who has become a very special friend – Teresa May. She went from friend to "sister" and co-owner of Springbok Scottish Terriers. She has owned Teddy since he was a baby and now has Merlin,  CH. Springbok's Magic of Camelot, and his sister, Paige, CH. Springbok's Storybook Tale, Too.
